July 5th-7th: During the last leg of our Europe trip, we took the Bullet Train from Brussels to Paris and stayed in Versailles. Our hotel lobby was TINY but full of colorful artistic decorations. We were eager to visit the beautiful Palace of Versailles gardens and fountains again and to check out the new Paris Temple. To my big disappointment, the Palace fountains were not running the day we visited, and the gardens were parched due to the extreme heat. I was so tired too, that I didn't feel like walking much, especially in the hot sun.
The good news was that the Paris Temple more than made up for it! We went on an endowment session, peeked inside one of the sealing rooms, and did some initiatory work while we were there. I was SO GLAD we got to see the gorgeous temple and to go inside the Visitor's Center, visit with temple missionaries, and watch a short film. The gardens and fountains on the back side of the temple were wonderful to see. And the stained glass has pretty native blue flowers in their design.
