December 2020: More Christmas celebrations

This holiday season was great because we still got to see all of our kids and grandkids even though there's a worldwide pandemic going on. We had our Texas and Utah kids here in mid-December. Sam wasn't able to come, but everyone else was at our house for a fancy family Christmas dinner that Jenny had orchestrated before we all got together. We had a wonderful time and made some great memories. We missed our Sam, but he was on-call at the hospital and had some good quiet time at home.

After Jared and Sam's families left, we still had our individual Christmas dinners with each of our kids in town. It's fun to watch each family open their gifts with us. We start with dinner, followed by singing Christmas carols and hymns, and then we open presents.

We had Jessica's family overnight from December 23rd to the 24th. It gave us more time together, and we had a lot of fun.

Jess and Seb invited us over for a Christmas dinner on the 25th, and we enjoyed playing games with their family. I love having them close to us! We always look forward to spending time with Jessica and Jacob's families.

My blog photos are in no particular order!

December 25th: This was Jessica's first Christmas ham, and it was delicious. She also made Funeral Potatoes, Green Bean Casserole, Pumpkin Pie, and an amazing fresh Pear and Cheddar Cheese Crumble Pie!

Love this girl. She does so much for her family and others.

Great tasting beef tacos Mike and I enjoyed at home between holiday meals

December 24th: Our Christmas eve leftovers were so good!

The last of our Christmas gifts to open on Christmas day

These were the gifts to each other and from my sister Jacqueline Babbitt

Look how pretty my sister's gifts are!

And look how gorgeous her goodie plate is! Our nephew Jack
Babbitt made the lovely butter cookies with his dad, Terry

December 23rd and 24th: Our last one-on-one Christmas this year was with Jessica's family. Jessica's favorite gift from us was her teal suede roller skates. She couldn't wait to try them out!

Seb got some handsome, warm shirts for the winter and cool tools

Jess and Seb spoiled us this year with an EchoShow, a beautiful bread knife
from Williams & Sonoma, Chloe rose perfume, and a Nintendo Switch game system that they and Sam and Kiley bought for us. It's the perfect gift for our home and for our older grandsons!

Our mouth watering meal of marinated flank steak, fresh green beans with bacon, sweet potato casserole, green salad, and ciabatta baguette with balsamic dipping sauce--yum!

December 13, 2020: A Hobbs and Dunlap Christmas family gathering--Part 2

Sunday, December 13th, was our big family Christmas gathering with all but Sam. On the 12th, Kiley and the kids drove down from Texas, and Jared's family drove down from Utah. Then Jessica and Jacob's families joined the rest of us at our house on Sunday afternoon--first, to celebrate Eli's 5th birthday early (his birthday is on the 23rd), and then to hang out and prepare for the fancy Christmas dinner--although some cousins were not too thrilled to hang out with everyone--haha. I for one am so happy that we are sealed as a family. I can think of nothing better than being together in the hereafter, really. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my family!

Jenny planned our Christmas this year, and we all jumped on board. She put a lot of thought and work into the plans, and the rest of us pitched in.

This guy, Eli, is always happy and excited

Later in the afternoon, the ABQ kids arrive, and we celebrated Eli's birthday (see previous blog post). Then we prepared for our Christmas feast.
Hudson looks like a teenager in this photo, and so does Milo!

Mario was aloof and quiet during this trip

Joey is ready to eat. I love his goofy smile below!

Jenny was also our photographer extraordinaire, as was Mike

Jenny bought lovely tiaras for all the girls. Here's our beautiful Kiley who is pregnant with baby #4 due in early March
