July 2022: First Hobbs' family reunion in Utah

Jared and Jenny bought a cabin on 4 acres of land a year or two ago and have spent a lot of time and money fixing it up. There are actually three structures on their property--a main cabin, a mini cabin, and a bunkhouse, plus a pond and small waterfalls. 

They had all three structures updated and painted. They also cleaned up the grounds around the structures; did a ton of weeding; cleared pathways; added landscape lighting; drained the pond; and added sand to create a little beach!

It has been a labor of love for Jared and Jenny and the boys to do the upkeep on their cabin property and to continue making improvements on it. Our whole family (minus Sebastian) attended the first Hobbs Family Reunion at the cabin. It was a great trial run, and everyone had a fun time. Here are some photos from the experience. June-July 2022: Europe trip with Jess and Seb!

Mike had a work conference in England and Germany this summer, and Jess and Seb decided to join us! Thanks to Peggy and Geoff Dunlap, they were able to come away with us while their kiddo's were cared for by their "Grandma and Grandpa D". We owe a debt of gratitude to them.

On our first day in England, we walked about 17 miles! The next morning at our hotel, my left knee gave out as I was attempting to take the stairs down to the lobby. I hobbled everywhere and leaned on Mike, especially up and down the subway stairs. At Stonehenge, I used a wheelchair to get around--a first for me.

Jess and Seb took a ton of photos of our trip, so I'll only show a few in this blog. Jessica did a great job posting photos to her own family blog. We took a bus tour and visited Stonehenge, Bath, Cotswold, and Stratford-Upon-Avon (William Shakespeare's birthplace). 

It was extra fun having Jessica and Sebastian with us. They planned to see everything possible, so it was go, go, go the whole trip. We went to Windsor Castle; Warner Brother's Harry Potter studios; Harrod's Department Store; Westminster Abbey; St. Paul's Cathedral; the Tower of London; and some beautiful castles

We attended church at Hyde Park; saw some awesome shows in London ("The Lion King," "Pretty Woman," "Phantom of the Opera," "Les Miserables," "And Juliet"); did a lot of souvenir shopping; and more!
