Jess and Seb went to Las Vegas Nevada to visit Sethrina's family and to attend Calvin's baptism. What made that trip special was that Geoff and Peggy Dunlap also flew down from Seattle for the occasion; and Seb's brother Noah joined them from Ohio, so all three siblings and their parents were together on this trip. I love those kinds of gatherings!
Jess had arranged for friends to take their kids after school on Friday the 4th and overnight till we could pick them up on Saturday afternoon. I had also volunteered to do Jessica's Primary music time in Junior Primary and in Senior Primary. That was exhausting but fun! I reviewed six songs that they had already learned with Jess. Mike helped me entertain the kids by playing the hot and cold games with the younger children and having foam sword fights with the older children.
We had just returned from our trip to Washington D.C., but it was fun to stay with our Dunlap grandchildren for those two days. On Saturday, we took them to "The Barbie Movie," and to McDonald's for dinner. On Sunday, I made the kids crepes for breakfast, and we took them to church in the afternoon. I made lunch for us at our house, and we went swimming at the Contois' pool and invited Jacob's family to join us. We ate a simple dinner together at our house. On Monday, we had a McDonald's breakfast on the go and walked the girls and Beau to school on Sofia's first day of kindergarten. That was special because we went early and took pictures of Sofia, and Beau showed her around the school grounds. He was so cute and protective of her. Hannah played with her sister and her friends on the playground before the bell rang. Sofia was very excited about starting school.

Sunday, August 6th: Sofia was scheduled to give a talk in Primary, but we didn't know, and neither did she! Luckily, the Primary leaders were prepared with something.
Monday, August 7th: Sofia first day of kindergarten! I think Grandpa Hobbs went a little camera crazy.

Such sweet children! Sofia is so blessed to have older siblings who love and cherish her. Grandpa asked her who her favorite family member is, and she secretly told him, "Hudson." |
