Flash Flood:
Today we had a freak storm with a ton of rain, hail, and wind. The missionaries and another family were at our house for dinner. Sam and I were playing our traditional foosball game with the Elders when the storm hit. In about 10 minutes, the roof had about 4 inches of rain pooled on top, which started to leak in the house. I got up on the roof with the broom and started sweeping it out of the parapets. I didn't have any shoes on and got quite wet. During the storm, I saw the most beautiful dual rainbow in the dark clouds by the mountains. There was lightning flashing around the double columns of color. I'm sure glad that the lightening didn't strike me! The missionaries took a 40 Mbyte video of some of the storm. Our neighbor’s large Russian olive tree fell over into our front yard. Celestine was looking outside when the tree fell. Luckily it didn't hit our house or fence!

Whoa, what a mess. I'm hoping that it didn't do any damage to the inside of your house. That rain storm is unreal. Travis and Melanie are having huge rainstorms in their area. They told me today that it rained 4 inches just on Sunday alone. Luckily they haven't had any water in their house because their sump pump seems to be keeping up with the water. I'm glad you didn't get hit by lighting. Didn't those missionaries help you out?

The tree sounds pretty scary. I'm glad it didn't hit your house.

Keep us posted.

Yeah... we're pretty soggy too, but at least the rain has let up for now, and at least we didn't have to sweep anything off the roof. I don't like heights.

No damage to the house. I have a small hole in the wall of the home about 6 inches up on the house. The hole was for a electrical wire that was removed when we restuccoed the home last year. When the rain started to fall horizontally (due to the 60 mph winds) some of water running down the side of the house must have come through the hole and down our walls. We had a small leak, but not too much water. I will fill the hole with silicone calking when I get a chance! Right now we're getting ready fo Sebastion. We're all excited to meet him. I'll try to get some pictures.
