Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta--October 4th, 2009

My step-sister Sherry and her husband Doug Carver, came from Tennessee to Albuquerque for the first time to visit us and to see the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. We had so much fun together! I love you guys!!

Here's Sherry and Doug at Balloon Fiesta Park, where hundreds of balloons are getting ready for the "mass ascension" or to take off for the skies:

Since Balloon Fiesta only comes once a year, I'm posting as many photos as I can! Doug and Sherry were awesome companions for Mike and I, and we were doubly blessed to have Jessica and Sebastian join us.
Check out the "special shapes" balloons above. They are my favorite ones. We were very grateful for beautiful weather and for the fun time we all had together.

Mike and Celestine with Sherry and Doug--ready for a fun day:
Gorgeous daughter Jessica with hunky hubby Sebastian:

Beautiful sister Sherry and cutie pie husband Doug, excited for the event:

Now wasn't that FUN?

Now I'll shift gears and show you a few cars that caught our eye at the Antique Car Show featured at the Balloon Fiesta Park. The black truck below wasn't actually part of the car show. It was one of the vehicles that transported a hot air balloon and gondola. Can you spot Pepe Le Pew behind the truck?

Look at this cool little Lamborghini:
Check out this sporty yellow El Camino:
Here's a '62 Chevy Impala Bubble Top:
It was so tempting to go inside and melt into the super soft leather--everyone wanted to touch it:
I think this was Doug's favorite. It had a cream colored glove leather interior and a bright orange exterior with air brushed detailing on the sides. We called it the" Dreamsickle:"

Another antique car refashioned with added parts from another classic car:
This is a '48 Chevy Deluxe Convertible. I bet Dad (George Kupski) would love this one:
Later that day, Mike and I took Sherry and Doug to historic Old Town in downtown Albuquerque to window shop and to eat dinner. We did a lot of walking around the square and ate at an old Mexican restaurant in the plaza. Thanks for the fun double-date Sherry and Doug!
