Thanksgiving 2014: Hanging out in Idaho! Part I

This Thanksgiving, we took a trip to Idaho Falls with Jessica and her boys. Our plan was to stay with Mike's mom, Joy, through the holiday week and return home by Sunday. Hudson and Beau were so GOOD the entire trip, even with 14 hours in the car each way! They never whined, cried, or complained--I'm still in awe.

After a decent night's sleep, we took Grandma Joy with us and went to Rexburg to visit the Finch family and see their new home. Mike and I marveled at how much the town of Rexburg has grown since our college days back in 1977-78. There's even a new LDS Temple in Rexburg.

We also visited the spot where Mike and I first met and started dating--seems like a lifetime ago!

It was GREAT to see Jenni and her family again!

This is the lower apartment window where I first saw Mike
He and his roommate were talking to the girls from their kitchen

I grabbed the guys' attention when I greeted them with, "What's shakin'?"
Mike turned around, and the rest is history!

On Thanksgiving day, we took Grandma Joy and Connie with us to Pocatello to meet up with the rest of the Idaho gang at the ISU LDS Institute building for the big Thanksgiving feast! The Institute was awesome, with a large dining/lounging area, a full function kitchen, nice bathrooms, a large game room, and a gymnasium. Thank you Dan and Tam for inviting our family to join in the fun!
