April 7-8, 2015: Part 5 of Jared and Jenny's visit--Fishing, Bowling, and Claim Jumper

April 7th: My mother treated us all out to Buffet King for lunch. I can't remember what else we did that day, but I think we did some shopping in town and then went home to rest. Everyone was so tired. I probably played games with Mario and Milo, and we may have watched some TV later in the evening.

April 8th: We had Jared follow us to Walmart to pick up some fishing supplies, then headed to my mom's house to pick her up on the way to Tingly Beach to fish! We were there for hours, and the boys were hot and tired from sitting in the heat waiting for a bite on their fishing lines. Poor kids! My mother, on the other hand, caught 2 decent sized trout! And as we were finally packing up to leave, another fisherman gave us one of his large fish to take home. At home, Mike gutted and filleted the fish for later.

My mom in her element--she and my dad used to LOVE fishing
together in Zapata, Corpus Christie, and Galveston Texas
Jared's family sit on a log waiting and waiting...
Jared and Jenny sure have a lot of patience, and the boys look painfully bored--
I'm sure that Milo and Mario
won't be asking to go fishing for a very long time!

For a FUN change of pace, we took the kids bowling later that day. They loved it and had a wonderful time. Mario and Milo were so darn cute! I think they'd enjoy being regular bowlers some day.

This boy should be in pictures--he's so photogenic
STRIKE for me! High 5's for everyone!

Mario's turn, and his arm looks twisted!

Poor little Milo had a terrible reaction from eating strawberries at our house
a few mornings. His face and body were covered with a bumpy, itchy rash!

We bowled two games, and I was the high bowler for the night! Jared and Jenny treated me and Mike to dinner at Claim Jumper that evening, even though we wanted to do the treating. It was really good, but the wait was long and the boys were so sleepy.
Mike's favorite--Fish Tacos
Crispy Chicken Cobb Salad for me
Beef Tenderloin and grilled vegetables for Jenny
Mac and Cheese with fries and apple slices for Mario
A BBQ Burger and fries for Jared
Mini Corn Dogs with fries and grapes for Milo
