August 26-29, 2015: Trip to Idaho for Connie Lee Hobbs' funeral

Mike's oldest sister, Connie, passed away at the age of 63 from health problems stemming from an enlarged intestine and bowel obstruction. She was mentally handicapped and suffered with leg pains and severe constipation for many years. We will all miss her beautiful child-like spirit and the unconditional love she showed everyone she knew or met.

Connie's funeral was scheduled for Thursday, August 27th. Mike and I left early on the 26th and picked up Jessica and her three little ones. It took us 16 hours to get to Idaho Falls, but the boys were very good, and baby Hannah did well for her first road trip with us.
August 26th: At a rest stop in Southern Utah, the boys enjoyed stretching their
legs and climbing with their Grandpa Mike. I think Beau was a bit scared though!
Hudson loves the outdoor adventure!
Little Beau tries to keep up with his big brother
Not a happy look on Beau's face...

August 27th: Brothers Steve and Mike at Mom/Joy's house
before leaving for the viewing and the funeral at the stake center
The pretty white hearst that carried Connie's body following
the funeral, with Steve and others nearby to help
A bouquet of Pepsi colored balloons (and empty Pepsi bottles) were
signed with messages by Connie's friends and family and sent up to Heaven to find her!

Later that evening while Beau was napping, we walked the short distance
to Civitan Park to let Hudson play. He LOVED his time there and had a blast!
August 28th: Steve holds baby Hannah for the first time, at Mom/Joy's house
We took Jess and the kids to Tautphaus Park, the biggest and most fun
park in Idaho Falls. The kids LOVED it and had so much fun!
The park even has a small carnival with 5 fun rides. The boys' first
ride was on the planes, and they were flying high and smiling from ear to ear
Love this big grin on Hudson's face!
Great shot of the boys
Here's Jess and Beau on the Ferris Wheel
And there's me and Hudson on the Ferris Wheel
This was a super cool water fall near the entrance to the park
It was so hot out, but the boys found some fun attractions at one of the parks

We also went to the small Idaho Falls Zoo, which was really awesome
Beau takes a break on the Safari mosquito-netted bed
Beau loved this lion mouth water fountain and kept going back for more
Later that evening we had a big family dinner outside in Joy's backyard
We also sang happy birthday to Scott Hobbs!
