June 15-23, 2017: Europe trip--London and Reading, England

Mike had another awesome opportunity to travel to Europe for some work conferences and meetings again, so of course I joined him! We didn't get to sit together during most of our flights, but we tried to sleep as much as we could during the longest flight from the U.S. to London. It made a huge difference in how we felt once we arrived. My ankles and feet got so swollen from the long flight, and probably from too much snacking the rest of the time.

Our Europe trip lasted for 3 weeks. We had a wonderful time in England, Germany, Holland, Belgium, and France. Some of the highlights were touring a few castles, staying in some wonderful hotels, finding Asian (especially Thai) food in every country, and just enjoying the beautiful scenery and architecture with Mike. I also enjoyed souvenir shopping in most of the places we stayed. It's fun to bring back souvenirs for the grandkids. We did a lot of walking too, which is always a good thing--otherwise we'd gain even more weight on these trips!

June 15th: First stop, London England. We visited St. James Park, The Mall, and Westminster Abbey.

June 17th: So much to see in London, even if we've seen it all before. We were hoping to tour Buckingham Palace this time around, but it was closed to tourists. We did a lot of walking and a lot of eating on this trip! We enjoyed some live performances too: "Thriller," "Annie," "Kinky Boots," and Disney's "Aladdin." They were all wonderful.

June 18th: Our London hotel, and our first time attending an LDS ward in the city (which turned out to be a singles ward inside a small Visitors Center. It was great, and we were so glad we went.

June 19th-22nd: Reading, Isleworth, and Windsor England. Mike attended collaborative meetings with the Atomic Weapons Establishment in Reading, and we did some sightseeing and eating. We also got to tour Windsor Castle!

June 23rd: In London, we saw Big Ben, Tower Bridge, the Seine River, beautiful greenery and walkways, and lots of tourists.
