June 20th: I was excited to finally get to visit Sam and his family in San Antonio! They moved into their first purchased home this summer, and their boys were happy to have the extra space to run around, plus a fenced-in backyard and deck to enjoy.
Jessica and her family had arrived at Sam's house the day before I got there. They were traveling back from their Branson MO trip and decided to drive to San Antonio afterwards. Sebastian flew back to Albuquerque early the next morning, but I got to spend time with both Sam and Jessica's families during my visit.
We spent three full days at Sea World, did some shopping, and went out for lunch. Sam took Hudson to the big roller coasters, while Kiley took care of the younger kids.
At the house, me, Jessica, and Kiley took turns making dinner for the family. On our fourth day, we made food preparations for Kiley's baby shower, and Jess also worked on the decorations. That evening, Jess and I babysat for Sam and Kiley so they could get go on a much needed date together without their boys. We thought they'd go out to dinner and go see a movie, but they skipped the movie and came home instead.
It was adorable to see Hannah and Eli play together and chase each other around the house! Joey and his cousins enjoyed the sharks and the dolphin and whale shows at Sea World. They also liked watching cartoons together at the house. Joey is still obsessed with sharks and is in his own little world much of the time. It's different having a grandchild with autism, but Joey is very loving and sweet. We all love him very much!

This picture sums up our trip! Sam was so tired, and Joey wore himself out each day. It was very HOT in San Antonio, and all of us got so tired by late afternoon. Jess and I are grateful that we got to visit Sam and his sweet family. We will cherish the time we had together.
Mike and I look forward to spending Thanksgiving with Sam, Kiley, and their THREE children this November! They had a sweet baby girl on July 28th!
