Beginning on February 1st, Shauna asked me if her kids could have a weekly "play day" with their grandma. She picked Mondays since the kids don't have classes at their school on Mondays.
We've met at the park, at the mall, at my house, and at the Rio Grande Zoo which is closed on Mondays, so we went on a Thursday morning instead. We always have lunch together afterwards, and Jacob usually joins us for the food part! I let Shauna choose the places to meet and the restaurants to eat together. The play days have been a fun addition to our Wednesday evening dinners here at our house.
We had some surprise snow in March, and the grandchildren loved playing in it. Shauna sent me some photos of the kids, and I wanted to include them in this blog post.

March 8th-15th: Shauna had been encouraging Jacob to stay with us so he could work on his dissertation in peace and quiet and without distractions. He finally agreed and stayed with us for a week. He worked upstairs at the little table in the guest bedroom. Jacob wasn't exactly "undisturbed" for the whole visit, but he certainly had a LOT more time to himself. We hope he decides to stay with us again real soon! |
My second batch of homemade egg rolls last week turned out so good, that I couldn't stop eating them! Why do I love food so much?? |

March 13th: We delivered cookies to our ministering families and to our corner neighbors. It was a FUN day full of friends and happy home visits! |

March 13th: We treated Jacob out to dinner at Chin Shan Chinese restaurant and had a feast together, plus yummy leftovers. |

March 14th: Making Katsudon for our Sunday dinner with Mike's loving help. Jacob and the Dunlap's ate with us. Afterwards, we played games and had root beer floats, which the kids especially enjoyed (except for Beau, who doesn't like soda). |

March 15th: Enjoying lunch at the Frontier restaurant with Jacob's family before visiting my mom for a family history interview. |

Interviewing my mother was a sweet and wonderful experience for all of us, especially the adults. She had some great memories to share.

March 15th: After I got home this evening, Mike and I enjoyed a wonderful fresh salad and the best vanilla ice cream with bananas, cherries, and chocolate--yum! |

That was such a fun post! It was wonderful reliving that Katsudon meal! Mmm was that good! I loved the behind the scenes pictures. You put so much love and effort into your meals and family gatherings. We love and appreciate all of your efforts so much. You are such a generous, warm, fun, loving mother and grandmother! I am so lucky you are my mom!
