October-November 2021: Fall, Friends, Family, Sunsets, and Balloons

October 6th: It's not everyday that you see such a spectacular display in the sky! I caught these images on my way to work one day. What a lovely sight for these tired old eyes. The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta was cancelled last year due to the Corona Virus, so it was extra special for me and for everyone else this year. And the weather couldn't have been more perfect for all but one day of the fiesta.

October 8th: A yummy Scarpa's lunch outing with Jessica's bunch. I love going out with our kids and grandkids, but it's getting harder to do that since both Jessica and Shauna are taking online college courses now and stay super busy.

One of many yummy meals that Mike and I enjoyed this year.
I had to include some food photos in this blog!

October 9th: One of our sunsets looks like FIRE in the sky! And the clouds are beautiful too. Love that happy face on my sweet Mikey bear--smooch!

What would my blog be without more food pics. This is a large wok of fried cabbage and noodles with mushrooms and leftover tri-tip steak. More sunsets below--can't get enough of them, and photos don't do them justice.

This fall has been longer and brighter than in previous years, and the weather has been gorgeous. It didn't start getting cooler until after the first week of November. Now the wind is blowing the lovely colorful leaves off of the bushes and trees, and winter is just around the corner. I always miss the fall when winter comes around.

Japanese Maple in our courtyard

Rob and Marie Sorensen visited from Nevada the first week of November to visit their son's family, and we were happy to see them too! They are our oldest and dearest friends.

We had lunch together at Scarpa's Italian restaurant; ate lunch at China Luck; had them over a few times for food and games; and drove them to and from the airport. We look forward to their next visit!
