July 2024: Significant people and events in our family

While Mike and I were on our last few days in Europe, my little sister Jacquie informed us that my mom was in the hospital ER after throwing up blood from her stomach. When we returned from our trip, there was a lot of hospital visits and later, radiation appointments to take my mother to. We also took care of Vernon and stayed overnight a couple of times. Jacob helped us out and took two nights in a row. It was a very worrisome and stressful time for all of us. Thank goodness for FAMILY, neighbors, friends, and many lighter distractions during that time.

My mother's health did get stabilized at UNMH, but the radiation treatments were necessary to shrink her stomach tumors. In the meantime, Jessica was finishing up her first year of Nursing School at UNM.

I tested negative after having Covid symptoms during our trip

M brother Richard and his family drove into town from Texas to see our mom, who was in and out of the hospital during this time

My mom was stuck in a hospital bed for two weeks, and she hates hospitals

My sister Cathy Lemmon flew in from Tennessee to see our mother

My daughter Jessica, my sister Jacquie, and my niece, Jennifer. Jennifer flew in from Utah to see her Grandma Pitcher.

My mom didn't like the hospital food much and got
some good meals from the Babbitt's and from us

NICE and RELAXING!

Mom time at the hospital

Mom wanted a picture of her baby, and this was his best attempt at a smile. You could tell Vernon was worried about his mama.

Looking peppier after two weeks

Finally back home in her happy place

And Vernon is so happy and relieved to have his mama home

Out to lunch at a Thai restaurant across from Ta Lin Market after one of her radiation treatments at the Radiation Center

A lunch treat for the Dunlap kids at Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers after their swim lessons. And we went to see a movie afterwards.

Love these kids! Look how 13-year old Hudson towers above his siblings!

Sweet Vernon with a hearty meal during one of our fill-in shifts with him and my mom

We had the Cao family (from church) over for dinner and outdoor fun

Spoiled little Emma Cao in the Swim Spa was a challenge to discipline

Eddie and older brother Charles loved the court

Mike and "Ping" Cao partnered up

The whole family enjoyed the pool and stayed a long time
