We spent pretty much the whole day with my awesome Japanese relatives. We met Masako Inoue, her sister Hiroko Sato, and Hiroko's 21-year old son Shingo at the Tokyo train station. They treated us to a fun bus tour through Tokyo, which included a stop at Asakusa for souvenir shopping!
Afterwards, the bus took us to a loading dock where we got to ride on a tour boat across the river! We were all tired, so the bus ride and boat ride were a welcome change from the usual walking. They treated us to an authentic Japanese lunch in Tsukishima. We also went to a popular fish market in Tsukiji.
We ended the day with an amazing meal with Masako and Takashi Inoue and Shingo Sato. Takashi treated us to dinner at Harata, a wonderful Japanese restaurant in Roppongi that another one of his friends owns. I think we tried almost every delicious entree on the menu! Thank you for a most memorable culinary experience Takashi!
