October 2023: Pitcher Family Reunion and a whole lot more

October's festivities included having friends over, celebrating birthdays, attending "Fun Run" fund raisers at two schools, volunteering in Sofia's kindergarten class, family visits, a weekend Pitcher Family Reunion, and Halloween. It was a fun, busy month for everyone!

Monday, October 16th: Erica and Oscar Garcia's family joined us for dinner and games for the first time. They are a beautiful bunch, and we had a great time together. Little Oscar was so funny and cracked us all up.

Thursday, October 19th: Lunch at Oak Tree Cafe with the Lemmon's and Jacob's family

Excited to see the Taylor Swift Eras Tour concert movie!

Dinner at El Pinto after the three and a half hour concert movie, which was GREAT!

Where's our yummy Mexican food? The service was slow due to understaffing, but the chips and salsa saved us, and eventually the meals were good too!

Friday, October 20th: Jess made all of us a wonderful hot breakfast of yeast waffles with hot vanilla butter syrup, bacon, sausage, fresh berries, and orange juice. It was the BEST! Wish we'd taken photos of Jess and her amazing breakfast!Afterwards, she and her kiddo's went on a fun outing with Warren and Ana and enjoyed Boba Teas at the park.

Friday evening, October 21st: The first gathering of the Pitcher Family Reunion, we was a "Meet and Greet" at the ABQ Sheraton Hotel Bernalillo room organized by Claudia Pitcher with help from Zita Pitcher.

Mike and Howard organized the outdoor games including relay tic-tac-toe, 4-man tug of war, foam sword fighting, and Tomahawk Archery. We also had our reunion photos taken by Natalie Pitcher. Mike took a ton of photos too, which actually turned out better than the professional ones.

Sunday morning, October 22nd: Sally Dar, her younger sister Cathy Meacham, and my younger sister Jacquie visit our brother Vernon and our mother in her home. My Mom was the missing link for these sweet sisters and their deisre to understand what happened to my dads's family!

Sunday afternoon, October 22nd: Me, my sister Jacquie Babbitt, and my step-brother (Jacquie's half brother) Johnny Pitcher at the Sheraton Hotel where most of us played games and ate pizza in the afternoon. I was in charge of the indoor reunion games and brought game prizes for every family!

Sunday evening, October 22nd: The last night of the Pitcher family reunion was supposed to be the climax of the weekend, with a more formal sit down dinner and a slide show presentation at the Sheraton Hotel banquet room.
Instead, it turned out to be a quiet, rather boring night for most of us. The meal was good, but everyone was tired and there wasn't enough money to pay for the audio visual equipment rental. But Cathy Meacham read a very nice history of the Pitcher family that she had researched and written, and we all went around taking pictures while saying our goodbyes at the end of the night.

Jeremy Solis and Natalie Pitcher--these two should be married!

Monday, October 23rd: We invited Jacquie to join us (not pictured) for a movie date to see "My Greek Wedding III" (a real disappointment).
Jacquie loaded us down with chocolates, pistachios, sodas, and popcorn!

Tuesday, October 24th: My mother always enjoys family visits, and this was Warren and Ana's second visit to see Grandma Pitcher. We took dinner and played games. Ana is a special and spiritual addition to the Lemmon (and our) family. We love her so much and feel that Warren is a very blessed man!
