March 2025: I love my family and my friends--and FOOD apparently

I tried my hand at making rolls--lots of rolls, for company and for family meals. Sebastian and the Dunlap kids love bread! I added chia seeds to some of the dough for fun.

Saturday, March 1st: Seb bought this beautiful layer cake from Costco for his family. It was also Noah Hobbs' 4th birthday today! He's our youngest grandchild.

Tuesday, March 4th: Lunch with Jacob and Shauna at Cheese and Coffee Uptown followed by a visit to Grandma Pitcher afterwards for games. She loves seeing her grandchildren and playing games!

Wednesday, March 5th: A late birthday lunch treat at Lime Vietnamese for my friend Haitao Cao. She loved the attention!

Thursday, March 6th: A fun birthday lunch outing at Thai Spice for Becca Anderson (and Jessica, since it's her favorite restaurant!)

My Mamasan with leftover noodles and tangerines, and of course games!

Friday, March 7th: A day with Sofia when she stayed home from school and would have been alone. She spent the whole day having fun and seeing a movie. Nothing like rewarding her for skipping school!

Sunday, March 9th: Brody Brown and Alex Norby came over to practice being missionaries as part of a missionary incentive in our ward. They played pickleball with Mike; had dinner with us (and the Dunlap family); and gave us a spiritual message. These young men/boys and were so sweet and adorable.

Daffodils, the first flowers to bloom each spring in our courtyard

Thursday, March 13th: Dinner for Priyanka Wigh's family
I made chicken madeira, roasted potatoes, asparagus, a green salad, fresh fruit, and brownies. We had the BEST time with them!

After dinner, we taught Dean, Priyanka, and Shukla (Priyanka's surrogate/spiritual father) how to play SkyJo, which they loved

Saturday, March 15th: Sofia's early birthday date with her grandma--me! We went to the Cottonwood Mall for her shopping spree; had lunch at Panda Express in the food court; and went to see "Lilo and Stitch" at Century Rio afterwards. What a fun little granddaughter!

Sunday, March 16th: Sam's visit during his Eye Associates work week

A late little dinner for our Sam man

Monday, March 17th: Jess comes to see her baby brother and to eat dinner with us. We had steak, smoked chicken, rice, salad, fruit, and brownies.

Time for Canasta

Thursday, March 20th: Dinner for our missionaries, Patti, Sam, and Jess! I made this huge wok full of thin sliced NY steak, peppers, onions, and mushrooms, plus bulgogi sauce and served it with steamed rice--yum!

Nurse Jess joined us so she could see Sam

I love seeing Jess and Sam working together in the kitchen!

Morning face in bed

Friday, March 21st: A lunch date at Lime Vietnamese with Dot Contois. We did a little shopping together too and had frozen yogurt at Menchi's after lunch. We had FUN!

Wednesday, March 19th: Dinner at Firehouse Subs with Sam and Jess

Time for hot tea, chocolate, and games!

Sam's third book (about his residency and internship) that he gave me a copy of. I helped him edit it for his final draft and print.

Breakfast and goodbyes to our sweet Sam

Sunday, March 23rd: Time with my mamasan and Jess after church

These dainty yellow Daffodils are still gorgeous

And this beautiful orange Daffodil too!

Monday, March 24th: Day of my foot surgery to reposition my left big toe! I've had this "monkey toe" deformity for 40 years.

My little sister Jacqueline bought me the most comfy sweat pants and matching sweatshirts to stay comfortable in during and after my surgery. She is the BEST!

Post surgery I'm wearing a soft cast and no more monkey toe!

Making fried rice a couple days later

Wednesday, March 26th: Our friend Priyanka brought us an Indian FEAST that she made at home

There was so much food that we shared it with Jacob AND Jessica and their families

Working on seminary graduation with my foot elevated. Dot Contois let me use her knee scooter, walker, cane, and crutches! I ended up only using the scooter, which was pretty awesome.

Tuxedo layer cake and pistachios that my sister Jacquie brought over after my surgery. She also brought a lovely lavender plant that Mike planted for me in our backyard. Jacquie is the sweetest.

Cards from Jacquie and Jess; and flowers from Priyanka and Jacquie

Party time for me!

Saturday, March 28th: Jacob and the boys visit and have breakfast with us while Shauna and Elise are at a baking class in our neck of the woods. Tyler and Brandon played and hung out, and then we all had a late lunch together when Shauna arrived.

Fish and chips made at home, a go-to favorite

Another favorite go-to at home is toasted cheese sandwiches and  roasted red pepper and tomato soup--simple and yummy!

Lovely flower bouquet from Shauna and Jacob

Full and colorful floral delivery from Natalie and Alan Taylor
