August 4, 2015: The Preston England LDS Temple

On our second day in Leeds, we drove to Preston to see the new temple. We wanted to do an endowment session, but the temple was closed for summer maintenance. We did get to walk around the pristine temple grounds and enjoy the many English gardens and lily ponds. There is also a Missionary Training Center, a Family History Center, and a Distribution Center not far from the temple, and the gardens are spectacular behind and around these buildings!
Colorful flowers and shrubbery in every direction
The perimeter of the parking lot is lined with huge Hydrangea bushes, shrubs, and evergreens
One of the pretty lily ponds--this one is in front of the temple
Beautiful lily pond
Gorgeous flowers everywhere!
Where is everyone on a Tuesday afternoon?
We found out later that the temple was closed for cleaning
This cool brick and glass building overlooking the pond is part of the MTC
So gorgeous! These missionaries are so lucky!!

One of many bricked pathways into the English gardens
I could spend all day looking at the gorgeous plants and flowers
The arched trellises are amazing!
Love these brick walkways with perfectly groomed shrubs and hedges

These temple grounds truly remind me of paradise or the Garden of Eden
