May 14, 2019: Dinner & Canasta Night

May 14th: Last year or so I started a new thing called "Dinner & Canasta Night" to have different couples over to eat together and play Canasta with us. We play one hand of Canasta with another couple and then switch--until everyone has played with every couple. It's a way to fellowship others, share our food and friendship, and have fun! But the time goes by too fast.

I like to plan these evenings about once a month. This was our 4th Canasta Night. So far, we've had the following people over for Canasta Night:

Debra Parker, Stephanie Mitchell, John and Nancy Delphenic, Malcolm and Bree Turner, Rob and Marie Sorensen, Tony and Lucynthia Knudsen, Eric and Tammy DeGolyer, John and Maggie Naegle, and Rob and Marie Sorensen. Wish I had photos of ALL our guests.

John Delphenic and Stephanie Mitchell. I know John through his wife Nancy whom I worked with in the Albuquerque Temple office around 2000-2002
Stephanie used to be the pianist for our Primary in High Desert Ward around 2010.
Malcolm Turner, me, Debra Parker, and Bree Turner. Malcolm was one of our home teachers a few years ago. I met Debra a few years ago when we
served together in the Temple Youth Center (she was the supervisor then), and we still get to work together.

Me and Bree Turner. I met Bree in Cub Scouts when I served in the Primary presidency in 2009. She is currently one of the Youth Center volunteers, and I love serving with her. I am now the YC Supervisor, so I get to call on volunteers AND take care of the children who come to be sealed to their parents. It's a joyful service that we get to do in the Lord's temple.

What a fun idea! We need to have more people over. I love Canasta so much! It makes for such a fun night! And with your food on top of it all - just Heavenly!
