22 November 2007-- Mario's First Thanksgiving:

We began our dinner preparations at around 7:30 am. After Jared and Jenny arrived at 1:30, we ate, and then we ate some more. We had turkey, ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, sweet and sour meatballs, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, fresh spinach with bacon, carrots, a fresh fruit platter of pineapple, peaches, and strawberries, homemade and canned cranberry sauce, dinner rolls, and croissants. For dessert we had pumpkin pie with whipped cream, banana cream pie, pecan pie, and sparkling ciders. Needless to say, we ate way too much food today!

The turkey weighs 3 times (~15 lbs) as much as Mario (~ 5lbs)

We watched the newest Die Hard movie on DVD after dinner. Later in the evening, winter weather blew in and sprinkled snow all over New Mexico! Here's our front lawn with the beautiful white stuff.

Here's Jenny and Jared's Christmas stocking with Mario in it! We had to pull him out so we could see his face.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING everyone! We are very grateful for our family and for each of you.

What a spread!! Looks delicious!! Mario is just perfect. I can't believe you have your tree up already? Do you put it up before Thanksgiving or the day after? I'm jealous! We're putting ours up tonight and it's not soon enough.

Glad you had such a great Thanksgiving.

Celestine visited her sister in Nashville and got back on November 17th. While she was gone, Sammy and one of his friends (Sara) put the tree up! I was gone, taking care of Vernon, so it was a pleasant surprise for both of us! We love Christmas too! The snow makes us even more anxious.

That is so awesome!! We got a good start on ours tonight. It's the first year we've let the boys help and they loved it! Things went well until we ran out of ornament hooks. We'll have to finish up tomorrow. Looks good so far though! One month from today we'll all be celebrating!!!

Your THanksgiving looks so tasty. I was impressed with your tree in the background too. We put ours up last night. Well, just the tree. Tomarrow is supposed to be lights and ornaments. With work and school in the way, we had to take a few days to put it up. And Mario looks so cute in his stocking. He is such a precious little guy.
