July 7-13, 2021: Los Angeles California trip

Mike and I decided to visit Sam and his family in Los Angeles after they got settled in from their move from San Antonio (for Sam's 2-year retinal fellowship at UCLA with the Air Force). We asked Jessica if she'd like to come with us, and she said YES and brought her girls with us. Her boys are older and were happier to stay home with their dad and to play video games in her absence! It was a great idea because the girls had fun with their young cousins. Hannah is especially wonderful with Eli and Eden. Jess loved her time with Kiley and Sam. Plus she's always a wonderful driving companion. And there was a lot to see in L.A.

The Primary room in Sam and Kiley's L.A. ward was outside in the courtyard of their church building, which was really cool!

The Sunday we were there, Eli was scheduled to give a prayer and his big brother Joey was assigned to give a talk. We chose the perfect time to visit! The weather was also perfect the whole time we were there.

Kiley got in trouble for climbing this gnarly tree, which made all of us laugh

On our way back to Albuquerque, we got a call about our missing phone that I'd lost in the Rio Grande River a month earlier!
