Two work conferences (one in Hungary and one in Germany) and a meeting with the Atomic Weapons Establishment (AWE) in Reading England provided a fun Europe trip for us this summer!
We started our trip in London the first weekend, where we checked into our hotel, relaxed, ate some good Asian food, and went to a few live shows in the theater district.

China town has so many restaurants to choose from. Gotta eat here next! London was really crowded this weekend, especially with young adults and couples (including a lot of gay people).

We were excited to see one of our favorite broadway musicals, Victor Hugo's "Le Miserables."
We weren't allowed to take photos once the curtains went up, so these were all we could get before the performance.

Saturday, June 17th: At the Hilton's breakfast buffet
On this weekend London trip, we had a LOT of walking and metro trains to catch to get to and from our Hilton Hotel, which was located far from the lively attractions and food near the west end, the theater district.
Mike and I enjoyed a nice breakfast buffet at the hotel, then we stopped at a market and bought more chocolate to take to the theater. We watched the Tina Turner musical and appreciated her background story and her musical journey with and without Ike Turner whom she was married to for 16 years and with whom she had two sons. The young girl and women who portrayed her on stage did an outstanding job.
We ate a big dinner at a Japanese restaurant across the street from the theater where Disney's "Frozen" was playing. "Frozen" was a beautiful and magical musical to see! The young girls who portrayed Elsa and Anna as little children were amazing, and all the adult actors were wonderful. The stage sets and scenery magic were also incredible. I kept thinking how much our girls and granddaughters would have loved the musical and the fun performances!
