| Our neighbor's contractor accidentally backed into our east entrance wall and crushed it pretty badly! It took him weeks to get the wall rebuilt and looking decent again. |

Sunday, June 1st: Celebrating Vernon's 55th birthday
| I made a chocolate layer cake with cream cheese frosting. The top was decorated with chopped walnuts and fresh sliced strawberries (right before serving). Poor Vernon was cycling and not in a good mood. But his caregivers, Rosy and Nina, made it fun! |
| Adorable cake that Nina bought from Whole Foods and the cute candles that Jacquie bought. Jacquie also bought Vernon a cake! She kept it for her boys after learning that we already had a cake for him. |
| Time to cut Vernon's cake. It was huge! |
| We left my mom a chunk of the cake and took the rest home to share with our kids. It was rich and yummy. I think Mike ate most of it! |
| Our zucchini, cucumber, and cherry tomato plants are growing |
| Our green bell pepper, tomato, and basil plants are coming along too |

Little zucchinis growing. This one plant ended up producing the largest and most plentiful crop of zucchinis! |
