August 2025: Important family events and random photos

Saturday, August 9th: There was a lot going on on Hudson's 15th birthday, including his mama's UNM Graduation and the first day of school. So we took Hudson out on his birthday "date" a couple days later. We had lunch at Red Robin, followed by the movies to see "The Naked Gun 2." Afterwards, we stopped for Chinese takeout and visited his Great-Grandma Pitcher and my niece Ashley Pitcher who was staying with her from Texas. We ate and played games together and then took Ashley with us to our house to play pickleball and corn hole with Hudson.

Love this Hudson smile!

Look at the height difference between Hudson and Ashley!

And his tiny great-grandma!

Friday, August 8th: I treated Jess out for lunch at Jinja Bar and Bistro to celebrate her UNM Graduation

A pampering moment with my Honey Boo. He does a better job on my nails than I do!

The girls LOVE our swim spa

Our first tomato harvest was so fun

Two books that Jacquie encouraged me (and Jess) to read

Thursday, August 7th: Jessica graduated with her bachelor's degree in Nursing from UNM! It was also Hudson's 15th birthday and the first day of school for the Dunlap kids--a busy day!

Andrea Scarberry (Jessica's best friend from elementary school) came to support Jess along with us and Sebastian. Jess decorated her graduation cap with sparkly sequins, her name, and her degree. It was an exciting afternoon!

A lot of grilled chicken I cooked and froze for a variety of meals

Brownies for ministering families

Basket with fabrics I purchased to make tie quilts for our sweet grandchildren

A Boba Tea place that I went to with Jacob's family

Sunday, August 3rd: Celebrated Shauna's birthday at our house with the Dunlap's. And look who's washing the dishes after dinner!

Mike picked a ton of beautiful peaches from AdriAnne Madsen's peach tree after she invited us to come and take what we wanted!

We gave away peaches to our family and enjoyed all the rest. I also sliced some and put them in the freezer to enjoy later. I love peaches!

This is grated whole nutmeg that I used in our fresh peach ice cream (and in oatmeal raisin cookies)

These pint containers are filled with fresh diced peaches to make a lite peach ice cream in Mike's Ninja ice cream maker (I bought him for Father's Day)--yum!

Ready for the freezer

Thursday, August 21st: Love these sweet sister missionaries from our stake!

We stayed at Jessica's house and took care of the Dunlap kids from August 22nd through the 26th while their parents went to Seattle and Vancouver on a mini vacation, plus attended Seb's uncle's funeral in Oregon. It was a great family reunion for Seb!
Friday, August 22nd: The girls had cheer practice and Beau had football practice, and it was so hot out!

Saturday, August 30th: Jess bought tickets to Cliff's Amusement Park for all of us to enjoy! Unfortunately, Mike felt sick after the first couple rides, poor guy. Jess also left us $200 for groceries. I spent half that much on concessions and also filled their refrigerator before they returned. Cliff's was a blast for most of us!

Everyone was excited on the drive to Cliff's

Sofia was especially worn out after the competition, poor girl
