July 15-20, 2018: Cambridge MA trip!

July 15th: Another opportunity to travel to a new place and to take my mom with us! We love those work conferences for Mike! On our way to our hotel, we stopped at Rob Sorensen's favorite restaurant in Cambridge and enjoyed seafood and steak.

Found out that crab cakes are not my mom's favorite seafood, but she loved the shrimp and scallops

Mike's a happy man with his seafood selection of scallops and crabcakes
Oh yeah, ribeye steak for me, with red potatoes and asparagus

July 16th: Mom and I checked out the tiny downtown Cambridge for some shopping and ate lunch at this popular Rock Lobstah, where Mom enjoyed crab legs--she was in seafood heaven!
My mom and I visited the Harriett Tubman Underground Railroad Visitor Center, which was amazing

This was one of many roadside produce markets in the area

We had lunch at this seafood restaurant named Ocean Odyssey

July 17th: My mom and I went on a River Tour Crab Fest with a group of senior citizens! Even though we were given a pile of crabs for lunch, they were really small. Mom worked hard to get the meat out of those tiny crabs!

Half the fun is watching my mother enjoy her meals!
We had coleslaw, fried clams, corn on the cob, and endless boiled crabs

July 18th: My first chance to enjoy the little beach outside our hotel while my mom was asleep. The weather was perfect, and I was craving the water and the sun.

The three of us ate at another popular restaurant in Cambridge before heading off to the Boardwalk in Ocean City

Amazing sand sculptures of religious themes

July 19th: My mom and I went on a drive-through tour of the wildlife preserve, which didn't offer much to see during the season of our visit.
Japanese dragonflies were easy to spot
Eagles in an eagle's nest on the water
Blue Heron like the ones we have on the Rio Grande River
July 20th: On our last day before heading back to the airport, we stopped at Rock Lobstah again
so that Mike and my Mom could enjoy some lobster tails and roasted corn

Our drive back to the Cambridge-Dorchester Regional Airport

Goodbye Chesapeake Bay and Cambridge MA!
