Friday, June 21st: Mike and I had our last breakfast buffet at our hotel before heading off to the airport in our Taxi. We will miss the hotel because we know how tiny and old the hotels are in Rome (and Paris).

I've never seen so many motor scooters on the streets than here!
This is right outside our hotel, but it looks like this everywhere |
We were happy to get to our hotel after our delayed flight, a train ride, and a long walk from the metro station. Our first destination was to the new Rome Temple! We took a Taxi to the temple parking area (our Taxi driver was hilarious). We were elated to see how beautiful the temple grounds and buildings are! There's a Visitor's Center, a Chapel, Patron Housing, and of course the Temple.
We had little time to walk around the grounds, but we took some photos before we went inside to get changed into our whites for the 6pm endowment session. It's a smaller temple, but the session was totally full, and I could feel the love and humility of the Italian saints (although most of the people in the room were from the U.S. and other parts of Europe). Our officiator for the evening was a cute young Italian who looked like he was still in high school.

This temple is bigger on the sides than in the front or back--like the one in Paris
On our session, we went from the Garden Room/Telestial Room to the
Terrestrial Room, and finally to the Celestial Room. Everything is gorgeous inside and reminded me of the Paris Temple with it's double staircase and smaller rooms |
