Friday, June 10th: It's true that the buffets on cruise ships are amazing and there's so much to choose from, plus the dining service is excellent. Even though the Grand Bahamas was only 57 miles from Palm Beach, the ship took its time so passengers could enjoy the cruise.
Once we got off the bus and were settled in our hotel, we checked out the area and walked around the resort. The island is beautiful and reminded me and Mike of the Dominican Republic, where Jared and Jenny were married. The areas away from the resorts seem poorer and run-down.
With all the rain, there wasn't much time for swimming or laying on the beach, but we hit the ocean and pools a few times when the rain cleared. We went shopping at the local souvenir market across the street, where most of the merchandise looked the same--mainly just junky trinkets, but my mom found a couple of cotton wraps that she liked.

Doesn't Mom look happy? We also enjoyed dinner at Stellar Prime on Deck 8 our first night, plus a wonderful show that featured glitzy dancers, a hilarious comedian, awesome magic, and a Russian Cirque entertainer

Notice how it's raining and there are no people out enjoying the pool or the beach!

But there's always time for food! We tried this Caribbean restaurant on the island called Iries Caribbean Seafood for dinner
